Moving Weekend

Well, we are officially and completely moved out of the Matthews house, and will only be homeowners for less than 24 hours! What a blessing to have the house sold! We have so many wonderful memories of our time in that home and in Charlotte, but it is good to be free of the burden. Many thanks to Mom, Dad, Nana, Bill, Bradd, and Micah who helped us on the Charlotte end, and to Mom, Dad, Amber, Ashley, Fred, Pat, and George who helped us on the Apex end. Big props to the men who moved the baby grand piano like experts!
Every time we move we seem to underestimate the amount of stuff we have. We moved into our apartment in our cars, to our Colorado house in our cars and a friend's pick-up, to Aiken in a 16 foot truck, and to Raleigh in a 24 foot truck, plus we have a ton of stuff at my parent's already. All I can say is I hope that we don't move again for a LONG time!Alden was really excited to go back to the "old house" and play with her toys there and get to run around with Brandon and Lexie, and play on their cool swingset. They also had a big blow up spider in their front yard, which Alden was a little scared of at first, but ended up being a highlight of the weekend. She was SO good in the midst of all the moving around. We slept at the house one last time on Friday night, and then at Nana's on Saturday. She slept on the floor under the impression that she was "camping out".

Sunday morning, she treated us to a concert. I had know idea that she knew how to sing her ABC's or Old MacDonald, although I had heard her renditions of Twinkle, Twinkle and Baa, Baa Black Sheep. She was killing us with her "Moo, moo Hee-uh, Moo, moo Hee-uh".

Hudson was his usual pleasant self during the weekend, too. He and Nana got some great quality time on Saturday. It was such a blessing for Nana to be there to snuggle him! He slept from 9:30 until 7:15 on Saturday night, too. Wow. He must have known we were all exhausted.
The kids took their first bath together in the big tub. Hudson loved being in the water with Alden. Luckily, she didn't try to drown him.Hanging out on Nana's bed. He does a lot of this holding his hands together like this...we think it looks kind of like Dr. Evil...like he is plotting to hold the world ransom...for ONE MILLION DOLLARS!
